One single platform to investigate multiple sources
In a previous blog post, we discussed the limitations of making searches in competition authorities decisions via Google Advanced Search.
One of them is the inability to investigate simultaneously on different websites; we need to systematically re-parameter the search engine and look at results separately without any possibility to get a global consolidated view.
This is really a pain point: not only significantly slowing the investigation but also impacting on the global analysis of precedent.
There is now a solution!
On a regular basis EisphorIA releases new libraries extracted from various authorities' web sites after receiving their authorization. Notably, we have collected competition law libraries from European institutions (Commission and Court of justice) as well as from national authorities (FR, BE, NL, GE) and we will keep adding in the coming weeks other competition law libraries. All these libraries are displayed onto our data hub (available from our web site) where users can come and pick the sources they want to investigate.
Today, we are happy to officially announce an automatic "imbrication" of all the subscribed sources.
Concretely, users will access one single platform with one login and password to investigate all their sources. Users will be able to rapidly find the relevant information in one single search request. The results page will display documents from different sources as long as they are relevant to their search request.
Of course and in particular with competition law, we are in a multilingual environment. Decisions are published in multiple languages and should not be left on the side because you are searching in one particular language.
To tackle this challenge and for security reasons (avoiding copy/paste in publicly available translation tools) we have developed our own translation module which automatically translates your search query in the various languages present in the databases you are investigating. This means, all relevant documents will be displayed whatever the language they are in.
Our objective is to provide you one and highly efficient search experience in a user friendly environment combined with the ability to organize your work and collaborate with the relevant people from your team. What we do with public sources can easily be achieved with any of your internal sources of data. We offer users the ability to augment these public libraries with their own knowledge. We realize this by installing connectors between our investigation platform and users’ DMS or servers where their documents are located. These connectors will automatically and on a regular basis integrate new documents to the investigation platform.
We are on a journey to make legal research even more exciting by using the right technology to enable smart work and to simplify things. This imbrication of multiple sources is a great example and more will be achieved as we keep working closely with our customers and their expertise.
